In memory of those who are not here anymore

Hubby went to a funeral today.

He was a work colleague of his, they had worked together years ago. A healthy man, full of life.

5 years ago or so, his wife had cancer and had to fight for her life, as we all know a hard and painful fight that she won with his help. And now that they could both enjoy their life, he suddenly, totally unexpectedly, passed way on the last day of 2007.

At lunch time, 2 days ago, I noticed on of my colleagues was a bit down, I asked why he said his mother-in-law had passed way, on the 31/12/2007, also. Even though it was his mother-in-law, he was very found of her and loved her as his own mother. I felt very sorry for him. Another colleague also told me his girlfriend’s mother had passed way, also very suddenly, also on the same day.

Then yesterday, my “next desk” colleague was back from holiday, and she was looking very sad, when I asked why, she told me her fiance’s mother had pass way on 31/12/2007. She was devastated, was also unexpected, also very suddenly, and a very young lady with my mother’s age… That really struck me!

YEP 4 people linked to me somehow had passed away at the same day. 3 of them someone’s mother.

I know very well life is too fragile, I know everyday lots of people leave this world, ending their time, even so, when it is “someone’s mother” the news has the power to send me back to my own grief, and I can fell their pain as much as my own self…

I am really sorry for all them!
